I have been told that I haven't made a post in a while. With all the grading I have been doing lately, my brain has not been very active or random in the evening.
The students group I am an adviser for is currently looking for new officers. As we have been conducting interviews, one of the fun questions that has been asked is "What superhero (or fictional character) would you be and why?" So, that is my question to you.
For my answer, I think that I would like to be Elizabeth Bennet (from Pride and Prejudice). She is one of the original independent heroines in fiction who is not afraid to buck tradition and go against the expectations of society. Unlike some of the heroines today, though, she does not completely disregard convention. She is still interested in marriage, but she wants to marry for love and she wants to be able to respect her husband.
As far as a superhero goes, the mom in the movie Incredibles would be near the top of my list. Her flexibility would come in very handy.

Good to see you back! ;) I would have to say that I'd like to be Anne from Anne of Green Gables because I love her carefree, witty, and spunky personality. I've always wanted to visit Prince Edward Island too!
hmmm, I LOVE superhero's, the fantasy of it all, and the thought that there is someone out there that could combat the worst type of evil person who might come along (of course we know who that person REALLY is). But for me, I would choose Mystic from Xmen. Someone completely different than me, of course she is the bad person, but to be able to take any shape, any form, to disguise yourself and be someone else...I think she should switch sides and fight with Wolverine. : ) Perhpas she will in the sequel.
ok, I have got to change my ID...I didnt sign my name, but I know I am not your sister in law...this is Cherish. ha ha
good question! hmmmm...could I be Maria from the Sound of Music? I mean, I know her character is based on a true story, but they sure fictionalized her a lot, so I still think of her as a fictional character. So, If I could be her, then that would be great, because I could burst into song whenever I wanted, I would sound good, and people wouldn't think I was wierd! Plus, I could dance with the dreamy Georg von Trapp! If I have to go with true fiction/superhero, I'd be Mary Poppins, for the same reason, I could sing whenever I want and people would still like me! Plus, tea parties on the ceiling - who doesn't love that?! Or maybe I would be like Mr. Magorium from Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Another great movie, if you're looking. Thanks for the smile and the permission to imagine myself to be something other than what I am!
