Finally Finished

For about the last year, I have been working on a baby quilt for some dear friends who finally had their first baby this last summer. Even though my mom helped me with the cross-stitching, it still took me longer than it really should have to finish. At least I finished it before the baby turned six months old :o)

Here is the quilt. We put it together yesterday. The process started off well, but then we had a series of mishaps. Suffice it to say that one should always make sure that she measures carefully instead of assuming she knows the width of the quilt face.

That is beautiful! Didn't know you could quilt! I've dabbled in crocheting and really like it, but I think quilting would take quite a bit of patience. Looks really cute.

I wouldn't say that I can quilt. This is only my second attempt with my mom's help and we try to keep it pretty simple. Luckily the picture hides all the mistakes that a true quilter would cringe at seeing.

That is awesome, Trish! Very beautiful!
When my kids were babies, a quilt was made for each of them by my aunt. These are keepsakes and heirlooms that are special, and I hope they pass it on to their babies. Quilts are special - I think it is great that you made this much effort. What a great friend you are!
